Fat Transfer to the Face in Newport Beach

Facial Fat Transfer at Beyond Restore

Fat transfer to the face uses your own fat, taken from another area of the body, to restore volume in areas such as the cheeks, temples and under-eyes. At Beyond Restore, it is performed by Dr. Andrew Jarminski and Dr. Paris Sabo.

What Is Fat Transfer to the Face?

With age, the face can lose volume, leaving the cheeks flatter, the temples hollower and the under-eyes more shadowed. Fat transfer to the face takes fat from another area of your body and places it where the face has lost volume. Because it uses your own fat, nothing synthetic is added.

Treatment Areas

Fat transfer to the face can be used in the:

  • Cheeks
  • Temples
  • Under-eyes
  • Lips
  • Jawline
  • Chin
  • Nasolabial folds

Your surgeon reviews which areas fit your goals at your consultation.

The Procedure

  1. Consultation: your surgeon reviews your face and goals, and plans the treatment areas and where the fat will be taken from.
  2. Comfort: you stay awake; the procedure is performed under local anesthesia.
  3. Fat collection: fat is collected with the 3-in-1 technique. The most common donor areas are under the chin (submental), the abdomen and the thighs.
  4. Fat placement: the fat is placed in the planned areas of the face.
  5. Going home: you go home the same day.
The procedure takes about 2-4 hours, depending on what else is done and where the fat is taken from. Fat transfer to the face can be combined with other face procedures, such as a facelift, lip lift or blepharoplasty.
