HD Liposculpture in Newport Beach
High-Definition Body Sculpting in Newport Beach
HD Liposculpture (also known as HD liposuction) is a refined way to remove stubborn fat and sculpt the shape you already have. Every HD Liposculpture at Beyond Restore uses our 3-in-1 technique: VASER, HD Liposculpture and Renuvion J-Plasma, in one procedure. At Beyond Restore in Newport Beach, it is performed awake under local (tumescent) anesthesia, with no IV sedation or general anesthesia, by Dr. Andrew Jarminski, a fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon, or Dr. Paris Sabo, a fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon. Each plan is mapped to your anatomy and goals, with a focus on natural-looking definition. It starts with a free consultation.
What Is HD Liposculpture?
HD Liposculpture (high-definition liposculpture) is a precise approach to fat removal. Rather than only reducing volume, it focuses on shape: fat is removed with attention to your natural contours and muscle lines, so areas such as the abdomen, flanks, arms and thighs can look more defined. At Beyond Restore, every procedure uses our 3-in-1 technique (see below): VASER to help loosen fat, HD Liposculpture to remove and sculpt it with a power-assisted cannula, and Renuvion J-Plasma to help tighten the skin.
Liposculpture is not a weight-loss procedure. It tends to work well for people who are near a weight they can maintain and want more definition in specific areas.
The same technique is used to collect fat for a fat-transfer Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) or a Natural Breast Augmentation: the fat is harvested with all three steps of our 3-in-1 technique, then purified and placed in the buttocks or breasts.
The 3-in-1 Technique, Included in Every HD Liposculpture
Every HD Liposculpture at Beyond Restore uses our 3-in-1 technique: three steps, performed in one awake procedure under local (tumescent) anesthesia in our onsite surgical suite.
Step 1: VASER
Ultrasound energy helps loosen and emulsify fat before it is removed, which can allow more precise sculpting.
Step 2: HD Liposculpture
High-definition sculpting: fat is removed through a power-assisted cannula with attention to your natural contours and muscle lines.
Step 3: Renuvion J-Plasma
Helium plasma and radiofrequency energy help contract tissue under the skin, which may help it look smoother and firmer after fat removal.
What Can HD Liposculpture Treat?
HD Liposculpture can target localized fat that hasn’t responded to diet and exercise. Common treatment areas include:
- Abdomen (upper and lower)
- Flanks (love handles)
- Inner and outer thighs
- Upper arms
- Back and bra roll
- Chin and jawline
- Chest (including male chest)
Liposculpture removes fat; on its own it does not tighten loose skin. That’s why every procedure includes Renuvion J-Plasma skin tightening (see below), which may help with some loose skin. Significant loose skin may need a different procedure. We’ll talk through your options at your consultation.
How HD Liposculpture Works
HD Liposculpture is performed under local (tumescent) anesthesia, so you stay awake throughout, with no IV sedation or general anesthesia. Every procedure follows our 3-in-1 technique.
1. Numbing and VASER Fat Loosening
The treatment area is numbed with a tumescent local anesthetic solution. VASER then uses ultrasound energy to help loosen and emulsify fat before removal, which can allow more precise sculpting.
2. HD Liposculpture: Fat Removal and Sculpting
The loosened fat is suctioned out through a power-assisted cannula. Dr. Jarminski or Dr. Sabo works in fine detail, following your natural muscle lines and contours so the area blends with its surroundings, aiming for a defined, natural-looking shape that fits your frame.
3. Renuvion J-Plasma Skin Tightening
Renuvion J-Plasma delivers helium plasma and radiofrequency energy just under the skin to help contract tissue, which may help the skin look smoother and firmer over your new contour.
HD Liposculpture Benefits
Awake, Under Local Anesthesia
You stay awake and relaxed during your procedure under local (tumescent) anesthesia, with no IV sedation or general anesthesia, so there is no general-anesthesia grogginess afterward. Avoiding general anesthesia removes the risks specific to it, but liposculpture is still surgery.
Sculpted, Not Just Slimmed
Standard fat removal focuses on volume. HD Liposculpture focuses on shape, removing fat with attention to your natural contours and muscle lines for a defined, natural-looking result.
Home the Same Day
You go home the same day, with someone else driving. Many patients return to desk work and light daily activities within a day or two, with soreness that eases over the first few days. Exercise can usually resume after about 1 week, once your surgeon clears you.
Careful Planning
Your health history, medications and goals are reviewed at your consultation, and your procedure is planned around your anatomy. Follow-up visits let us check your healing.
Tailored to You
Every HD Liposculpture plan is mapped to your anatomy and goals by Dr. Andrew Jarminski, a fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon, or Dr. Paris Sabo, a fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon. There are no cookie-cutter results.
Feel at Home in Your Skin
For many patients, refining a stubborn area helps them feel more comfortable in their clothes and in their own skin.
Fat Loosening with VASER
Every HD Liposculpture at Beyond Restore starts with VASER, the first step of our 3-in-1 technique.
VASER uses ultrasound energy, delivered through a thin probe placed under the skin, to help loosen and emulsify fat before it is removed. Loosening the fat first can allow more precise sculpting around your natural contours and muscle lines when the fat is then removed with a power-assisted cannula.
VASER is followed by HD Liposculpture and Renuvion J-Plasma skin tightening in the same procedure. Results vary. We’ll walk you through each step at your free consultation.
Skin Tightening with Renuvion J-Plasma
Removing fat can sometimes leave skin looser than you would like. That’s why Renuvion J-Plasma, the skin-tightening step of our 3-in-1 technique, is included in every HD Liposculpture at Beyond Restore.
Renuvion, made by Apyx Medical, combines helium plasma and radiofrequency energy. A thin wand is placed just under the skin to deliver controlled heat that helps contract the collagen-rich tissue beneath the surface. It may help reduce the appearance of loose skin after fat removal, for a smoother, firmer look.
Results vary, and significant loose skin may still need a different procedure. We’ll talk about what to expect for your body at your free consultation.
HD Liposculpture Treatment Process: What to Expect
Before
Your journey starts with a free consultation at our Newport Beach clinic, 1501 Westcliff Dr #303, with Dr. Jarminski or Dr. Sabo. We review your goals, health history and anatomy, and whether HD Liposculpture or a different option is the right fit. You’ll get prep instructions, which may include pausing certain medications and supplements and stopping smoking and nicotine, and you’ll arrange for someone to drive you home.During
The treatment areas are numbed with local (tumescent) anesthesia, so you stay awake throughout. We do not use IV sedation or general anesthesia. Through small incisions, your surgeon then performs all three steps of our 3-in-1 technique: VASER to help loosen fat, HD Liposculpture to remove it with a power-assisted cannula and shape the area to your natural contours, and Renuvion J-Plasma to help tighten the skin. The procedure typically takes about 4 to 6 hours. HD Liposculpture is performed in our onsite surgical suite. After
- You go home the same day, alert and able to walk, with someone else driving.
- You’ll wear a compression garment (faja) for about 8 weeks, as directed, to help control swelling and support healing.
- Soreness, swelling and bruising are common and usually improve over the first 1 to 2 weeks. Your care team will give you a plan for managing discomfort.
- Many patients return to desk work and light activities within a day or two. Exercise can usually resume after about 1 week, once your surgeon clears you.
- We recommend lymphatic massage after surgery: 3 sessions in week one, 3 in week two, and 2 each in weeks three and four (10 total). It may help with swelling and comfort.
- Follow-up visits let us check your healing.
Results Timeline
You may notice a change right away, but swelling can hide your new contour at first. Visible improvement usually comes within about 1 to 2 weeks as swelling settles, and full results typically take about 3 months.
Fat cells removed from a treated area do not grow back, so results are long-lasting. Remaining fat cells can still grow if you gain weight, and aging can change your shape, so a stable weight and healthy habits help you keep your result. Individual results vary.
Is HD Liposculpture Right for Me?
HD Liposculpture may be a good fit if you:
- Have stubborn pockets of fat that haven’t responded to diet and exercise
- Are near your goal weight and want more definition
- Prefer an awake procedure under local anesthesia instead of general anesthesia
- Want subtle, sculpted contouring rather than major weight loss
- Have reasonably good skin tone in the treatment area (Renuvion J-Plasma skin tightening is included and may help with some loose skin)
- Are in good general health and don’t smoke, or are willing to stop
- Have realistic expectations and can follow the recovery plan, including compression as directed
HD Liposculpture is not a substitute for weight loss or healthy habits. Not sure? We’ll help you decide at your free consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions About HD Liposculpture
What is the 3-in-1 technique?
It’s the approach used in every HD Liposculpture at Beyond Restore: three steps in one procedure. VASER uses ultrasound energy to help loosen and emulsify fat. HD Liposculpture removes the fat with a power-assisted cannula and sculpts the area around your natural contours and muscle lines. Renuvion J-Plasma uses helium plasma and radiofrequency energy to help tighten the skin. All three are performed during the same awake procedure under local (tumescent) anesthesia in our onsite surgical suite, within the usual 4 to 6 hours. The same technique is used when fat is harvested for a BBL or a Natural Breast Augmentation. Results vary.
How many HD Liposculpture sessions will I need?
Often just one per treatment area. Most patients reach their goals with a single session for each area. If you’d like several areas treated or prefer a staged approach, we’ll plan that with you.
How long do HD Liposculpture results last?
Results are long-lasting. Fat cells removed from a treated area do not grow back. Remaining fat cells can still grow if you gain weight, and aging can change your shape, so a stable weight and healthy habits help you keep your result.
Do I need lymphatic massage after HD Liposculpture?
We recommend lymphatic massage after surgery: 3 sessions in week one, 3 in week two, and 2 each in weeks three and four, for 10 sessions in total. It may help with swelling and comfort while you heal.
What should I avoid after my procedure?
Don’t drive on the day of your procedure. Hold off on exercise until your surgeon clears you, usually after about 1 week. Keep wearing your compression garment (faja) as directed, for about 8 weeks, and avoid tight clothing that works against it. Follow your written aftercare instructions closely.
How is HD Liposculpture different from traditional fat removal?
Traditional techniques focus mainly on removing volume and are often done under general anesthesia. HD Liposculpture focuses on precise sculpting. At Beyond Restore, every procedure uses our 3-in-1 technique (VASER, HD Liposculpture and Renuvion J-Plasma) and is performed awake under local (tumescent) anesthesia, with no IV sedation or general anesthesia, in our onsite surgical suite, and the procedure takes about 4 to 6 hours. The right approach depends on your anatomy and goals.
Can I combine HD Liposculpture with another procedure?
Often, yes. Patients commonly pair HD Liposculpture with fat transfer, such as a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), natural breast augmentation with fat transfer, or fat transfer to the face, when it is safe and sensible for their health. When fat is harvested for a BBL or a natural breast augmentation, it is collected with the same 3-in-1 technique. Renuvion J-Plasma skin tightening is already part of every HD Liposculpture, so it isn’t a separate add-on. We’ll decide together at your consultation.
What is recovery like after HD Liposculpture?
You go home the same day, with someone else driving. Expect soreness, swelling and bruising, which usually improve over the first 1 to 2 weeks. Many patients return to desk work and light daily activities within a day or two, and exercise can usually resume after about 1 week, once your surgeon clears you. You’ll wear a compression garment (faja) for about 8 weeks and have lymphatic massage sessions over the first 4 weeks. Your contour keeps refining as swelling resolves, with full results typically around 3 months.
How long will I wear a compression garment?
Plan on wearing a compression garment (faja) for about 8 weeks after your procedure. It helps control swelling and supports your new contours. Your care team will fit you and tell you exactly how to wear it.
Am I a good candidate for HD Liposculpture?
You may be a good candidate if you’re in good general health, near a weight you can maintain, have stubborn fat in specific areas, and don’t smoke or are willing to stop. Every procedure includes Renuvion J-Plasma skin tightening, which may help with some loose skin; significant loose skin, or still actively losing weight, may mean another option or a later start suits you better. We’ll assess this at your consultation.
What are the risks of HD Liposculpture?
Liposculpture is surgery, and every surgery carries risk. Possible risks include bleeding, infection, swelling, bruising, contour irregularities, asymmetry, fluid buildup (seroma), temporary or lasting numbness, scarring at the small incision sites, and, rarely, more serious complications such as blood clots. Avoiding general anesthesia reduces certain anesthesia-related risks but does not eliminate surgical risk. Your surgeon will review your individual risks at your consultation. Results vary, and no surgeon can guarantee a specific outcome.
What is VASER?
VASER is the first step of our 3-in-1 technique. It uses ultrasound energy, delivered through a thin probe under the skin, to help loosen and emulsify fat before removal, which can allow more precise sculpting. VASER is included in every HD Liposculpture at Beyond Restore and is performed during the same procedure, before the fat is removed.
What is Renuvion J-Plasma, and is it part of every HD Liposculpture?
Yes, it is. Renuvion J-Plasma is the skin-tightening step of our 3-in-1 technique and is included in every HD Liposculpture at Beyond Restore. Made by Apyx Medical, it uses helium plasma and radiofrequency energy delivered just under the skin to help contract tissue, and it may help reduce the appearance of loose skin after fat removal. Results vary.
How much does HD Liposculpture cost in Newport Beach?
Cost depends on the number and size of the treatment areas, whether fat is also transferred, and any combined procedures. Every HD Liposculpture includes all three steps of our 3-in-1 technique: VASER, HD Liposculpture and Renuvion J-Plasma. We’ll give you a personalized quote at your free consultation so you know what’s included before you decide. Financing is available through PatientFi, CareCredit and Cherry.
