Botox in Newport Beach

Botox for Frown Lines, Forehead Lines and Crow's Feet

Frown lines between the brows, forehead creases and crow’s feet are part of how your face moves. At Beyond Restore in Newport Beach, Botox is one of the most requested ways to soften them, with a plan built around how much natural movement you want to keep.

Every Botox treatment starts with a free consultation, so you know what to expect before you book.

What Is Botox?

Botox is a prescription injectable made from a purified form of botulinum toxin type A (onabotulinumtoxinA). It belongs to a group of treatments called neuromodulators. Injected in small, precise amounts, it temporarily relaxes the specific muscles that crease the skin when you frown, squint or raise your brows, so the lines above them look softer.

Botox Cosmetic is FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines and vertical neck bands (platysma bands) in adults. It’s a quick, in-office treatment with no surgery, and results are temporary, so treatments are repeated to maintain them.

What Can Botox Treat?

FDA-approved cosmetic uses (Botox Cosmetic, adults):

  • Frown lines between the brows (the “11s,” or glabellar lines)
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes
  • Vertical neck bands (platysma bands)

Underarm sweating. Botox is also FDA-approved, as a separate medical use, for severe underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis), and we offer it.

Off-label areas we also offer. Providers also use Botox in areas outside its FDA approval, known as off-label use. At Beyond Restore these include a lip flip, the jaw (masseter) muscles for clenching, TMJ-related jaw tension or a slimmer-looking jawline, bunny lines on the nose, downturned mouth corners, a dimpled chin and a subtle brow lift. At your consultation, your provider will explain which areas suit you and whether a use is on- or off-label.

Asking about the jaw? Read our masseter Botox guide.

Botox softens lines caused by movement. It doesn’t replace lost volume or tighten loose skin; for those, other treatments are a better fit.

How Botox Works

Botox temporarily blocks the nerve signals that tell a targeted muscle to contract. With that muscle more relaxed, the skin over it creases less, and lines caused by repeated expressions look smoother.

  • Your provider maps the muscles behind your lines and chooses the injection points.
  • A small dose goes into each point, so only the targeted muscles relax.
  • Surrounding muscles keep working, so you can still look like yourself, just more rested.

The effect wears off gradually as nerve signals return, usually over about 3 to 4 months.

Benefits of Botox

Botox isn’t about looking “done.” The goal is a softer, more rested look that still moves like you. Here’s what clients often value:

Softer Expression Lines

Relaxing the muscles behind frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet can smooth the creases they cause. Treating lines early may help keep them from deepening.

Natural Movement

Dosing and placement are planned around how much movement you want to keep, so you can still raise your brows and smile.

A More Rested Look

Softening a heavy frown or creased forehead can make you look less tired or stressed.

A Quick Visit

The injections usually take about 10 to 20 minutes, and many appointments fit in under 30 minutes. Walk-ins are welcome, but scheduling is recommended. Most people return to normal activities right away.

Minimal Discomfort

Most people describe a brief pinch at each injection point. Numbing is available if you’d like extra comfort.

Customized to You

Your plan is based on your muscle movement, anatomy and goals, not a one-size-fits-all pattern.

What to Expect at Your Botox Visit

Before Your Treatment

It starts with a free consultation. We review your goals, expression patterns, medical history and medications, and talk through which areas make sense to treat or leave alone. Tell us if you’ve had Botox or another neuromodulator before.

In the 24 hours before treatment, we typically ask you to avoid alcohol and heavy workouts, and to pause blood-thinning medications or supplements only if your prescribing clinician agrees it’s safe.

During Your Treatment

Your provider cleanses your skin and marks the injection points. The injections take about 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the number of areas. You’ll feel a brief pinch at each point; numbing is optional.

After Your Treatment

Minor redness, swelling or small bumps at the injection points are common and usually fade quickly. After treatment:

  • Don’t rub or massage the treated areas.
  • Skip saunas, heavy sweating and intense workouts for about 24 hours.
  • Stay upright and avoid lying down for about 4 to 6 hours.

Most people go straight back to work or errands. We’ll give you aftercare for the areas treated before you leave.

Possible Side Effects

Botox is a prescription medicine, and like any injectable it has risks. Common, usually temporary effects include redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection points, and headache. Less often, a nearby muscle can be affected, causing a temporary droopy eyelid or brow, uneven results or a change in your smile.

Rarely, the effect of botulinum toxin can spread beyond the injection area hours to weeks after treatment. Get medical help right away if you have trouble swallowing, speaking or breathing, new muscle weakness, or vision problems after treatment, and call us with any other symptom that worries you.

Your provider will review your health history and these risks with you before treatment.

Results Timeline

  • About 3 to 5 days: lines start to soften as the treated muscles relax.
  • About 10 to 14 days: results are usually at their peak. This is when you come back for a complimentary 2-week follow-up visit, where your provider checks your results and assesses whether a touch-up is needed.
  • About 3 to 4 months: movement gradually returns, and most people schedule their next treatment.

Results vary with your anatomy, the dose, the areas treated and your metabolism. If you have an event coming up, plan your treatment at least 2 weeks ahead.

Is Botox Right for You?

Botox may be a good fit if you:

  • Want to soften frown lines, forehead lines or crow’s feet
  • Notice expression lines and want to treat them before they deepen
  • Prefer a non-surgical option with a short visit
  • Have realistic expectations: results build over about 2 weeks and last about 3 to 4 months

Who Should Wait

Botox isn’t recommended if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have a neuromuscular condition, such as myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome or ALS
  • Are allergic to any botulinum toxin product or its ingredients
  • Have an infection or active skin problem where you’d be treated

Tell us about all your medications and supplements, any recent botulinum toxin injections, and past eyelid, face or neck surgery, so we can plan safely.

Botox vs. Dysport vs. Jeuveau

Botox, Dysport and Jeuveau are all botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators. They work the same basic way, but they are different products, and their units aren’t interchangeable. Onset, feel and how long results last can vary from person to person.

How Much Does Botox Cost in Newport Beach?

The cost of Botox depends on your plan: the areas treated, the number of units your anatomy needs, whether you combine Botox with other treatments, and how often you come back for maintenance. Botox Questions, Answered

How long does Botox last?

Results typically last about 3 to 4 months, though it varies with your metabolism, the dose and the areas treated. Most people schedule their next treatment as movement returns, and your provider will adjust the timing with you.

Yes, that’s usually the goal. Your provider plans the dose and injection points around how much movement you want to keep, so you can still raise your brows and smile. Tell us your preferences at your consultation.

No. Some people start when lines first show up with expressions, often in their late 20s or 30s, and others start when lines are visible at rest. What matters is your anatomy and goals, not a specific age.

Most people describe a brief pinch at each injection point. The injections take about 10 to 20 minutes, and numbing is available if you’d like extra comfort.

No. As Botox wears off, your muscles gradually return to how they moved before treatment, and your lines return toward how they would have looked without it.

All three are botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators that soften frown lines. They’re different products with different doses, and onset and feel can vary. Botox Cosmetic is also FDA-approved for crow’s feet, forehead lines and neck bands. We’ll help you choose at your consultation; see our Dysport and Jeuveau pages to learn more.

Most people see lines start to soften in about 3 to 5 days, with the full effect around 10 to 14 days. Your complimentary 2-week follow-up visit falls in that window. If you’re getting ready for an event, plan treatment at least 2 weeks ahead.

There’s little to no downtime for most people. You may have minor redness or small bumps for a short time. Skip rubbing the area, saunas and intense workouts for about 24 hours, and stay upright for about 4 to 6 hours.

Common effects include redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness at the injection points, and headache. Less often, a nearby muscle can be affected, causing a temporary droopy eyelid or brow or uneven results. Rarely, the toxin’s effect can spread and cause trouble swallowing, speaking or breathing, or muscle weakness; get medical help right away if that happens.

Cost depends on the areas treated, the units you need and how often you maintain your results. We’ll give you a personalized quote at your free consultation.
